Read This Before You Buy Garden Furniture Cushions

For your garden furniture be it the patio or deck you will need to have the garden furniture cushions. These cushions can either your first time purchase or the alternate garden furniture cushions. Purchasing the cushions that fit in well with your furniture including having the correct cloth and the texture is a challenge.

There are several things you should consider when selecting the cushions for your furniture. The first thing that you should be wary about is the color. The patio umbrella and the patio cushions color should match. If you have dissimilar colors then the best thing is to get the cushion covers which can help you get the matching color.

Since you are going to keep the cushion outside make sure that the fabric is liquid, soil and stain protected. Also the fabric should be resistant to mildew. In most cases the fabric need not be treated chemically.

The filler inside the garden furniture cushions should be a layered poly fiber fill. This dries off very simply and is extremely resilient. Do not purchase a cushion which is made up of foam. If you are buying the wicker seat pads or the toss pillow then you should search for the fiber which is shredded as well as blown. This way the fiber has a fluffy effect.

For the styles the main thing is the edge of the cushion and there are a range of styles of edges. You can select from box edges, knife edged and French edged cushions. There are extra features such as button style or the stitching that can give an extra effect. The two types of button style are button tufted and the sewn button style.

Consider the fabric. The diverse fabrics available in the market are acrylic, acrylic linen, Marquesa Blend, Spun polyester, Barkcloth, PVC, Woven, Olefin, TSpun and Fillament. The major consideration should be that how simple it is to clean the fabric. In addition the stain resistant properties of the fabric should be a factor in your decision.

Please don’t forget to make sure that you take the measurements of the exiting cushion properly. The three measurements that you should take are the back length of the cushion, the bottom length of the cushion and the width of the cushion. After that you also measure the length of the cushion after laying it down straight on the ground. The thickness of the cushion should be measured.
